Literature Text

So hello death, old friend.
I thought I had cheated you.
New creation
And a shiny new halo.
The sky is the limit
and
I will live forever.
I will see my nieces and nephews
Have their own children
And be a great aunt.
I will be a wacky old lady
Dispensing wisdom and chewing gum.
Then you tapped me
On the shoulder with a
Bony finger
You looked dashing
In your bowler hat and bowtie.
Handed me a bill: payment due.
We have worked out
an arrangement.
You may bide your time
Or perhaps not.
Today I remembered
we all die.
Bury me under
some mint
please.

Looks like it's about an internal struggle to get a sense for life. Beautifully written.
